A group of loyal Gen. 1 SWB owners in the USA are attempting to locate a source of flares for our vehicles. I have a set of Bushwacker's on my 1988 Raider, and have been trying to get these duplicated.
This morning I met with the owner of a plastics manufacturing company in metro Atlanta, GA USA. He pretty much said tooling costs would easily exceed $12,000.00 and suggested I contact Bushwacker in Portland, Oregon USA and attempt to purchase the molds.
I phoned Bushwacker and spoke to their national sales manager. He is doing some research n an effort to locate the old molds. He did say Bushwacker would not make a small run of these flares.
So, I was wondering if anyone down under would be interested in a set of flares, providing the original molds can be found and bought, and the Atlanta company can produce the flares.
I was also wondering if flares were still available for the Gen. 1 vehicles in Australia? If so, could a link be posted for them?

Gen. 1 Mitsubishi Montero & Dodge Raider fender flares
Moderator: -Scott-
If you seriously interested I sugest searching the new zealand web based sales sites as they are importing large numbers of the gen1 vehicles and genuine flares come up occasionally.
Maybe try canada as they too are now importing. may even be able to contact the importers and try to get a few "flare sets" arive inside another vehicle.
see my vehicle for genuine gen1 swb flares.
Have to be better ways?

I received an email from Kenneth Merritt, national sales manager for Bushwacker, stating he could not locate the original molds for Gen. 1 Mitsubishi flares, and assumed they no longer existed.
This pretty much ends our efforts to have these reproduced. I like your truck, BTW.
Do you have any links for 4x4 web sites in New Zealand?
