KJ WITH NOISE IN REAR DIFF?

Post by Miss KJ »

Went off road last night at Tallarook and was really pleased :D with how well the kj went considering IFS. However, once I hit the highway, got a vibration in what feels like the dif, or maybe tail shaft.

Has anybody had this trouble with their Jeep?
Are the tailshafts or dif housings light weight?

I drove a Kia Sportage off road for years and gave it a hiding without any problems. Surely the Jeep has to be stronger than the Kia!!!

Not something as simple as throwing a balance weight??? or build up of mud? :) You could try swapping your spare around.

Are you on ausjeep BB - a few KJ owners there might help out

The problem is.....
Front tail shaft has cv's at either end and front one is kaput!!!

Being replaced by Jeep and picking it up tomorrow.

Hope this doesnt prove to be a weak spot
