Talk is cheap
After an offer like that, it sounds like you're cheap too :)

Oh, and to give you some idea of the value of the engine, there is or was a recoed gq 4.2 diesel, no turbo, selling for $3300 as an EXCHANGE unit.
So your engine being a GU, with so few Kms, not sold as exchange, and with all those extra bits, has to be pretty expensive. QIM when they were rebuilding part of my GQ engine, said it would cost me $8K to get a second hand engine put in. And again, that's a GQ.
Sorry I can't be much more help to you. Perhaps ring a few wreckers and ask for a price as if you're buying one. Also have you looked at engines on ebay? They might have one to give you an idea.

hi bud.

mate i purchased a gu 4.2 td engine, loom from here a few moons ago for $3800... i do believe that was a good buy as i swapped it for a rolled td 80 series... but money wise it was cheap for a gu engine.

my mate also purchased a gq 4.2td from here for $1000... it did cost us nearly $250 in fuel to get it from woop woop though but that is still cheap..

cheers mark

Thanks guys, good to know, i was hoping for around the 6,000 to 7,000 mark with all that gear, so if anyone would be keen in the next 2 months to buy the engine, let me know and will give you my number to work stuff out. Got full service book history, oil change every 5,000kms. And i mean just about every thing under the bonnet, dual batteries, airbox, leads, everything.

Sorry mate,
2002 ute,
front locked, coil conversion on books with rear locker, tube bar coming, need high mount, got low mount for back, 36 pedes on beadlocked rims, race seats, lift, body lift, tray getting modified, other stuff i can't think of.

Looking at a motor that might be coming up for sale. Making big numbers, full internals done(head, cam, etc), big turbo, pump and injectors done, water to air intercooler, custom intake, the list goes on.

Yes, Got quotes on getting my motor up to those figures, but will save about 8-9 grand this way. Not cheap going crazy on a diesel this day and age. To get a stock as a rock td42 from say 60-70rwkw to 200rwkw on 35's, you will spend an easy $15,000 on it!!
