Hi. I am currently improving my 75 RR which is running a P76 and lt95. I have just put a set of 34x 11.5 jungle treckers on it and am giving it a bodylift to gain the neccesary clearance. The new engine I am building I want to resleeve to 5.0. I have Buick 300 alloy heads (couldn't find cast ones) and an edelbrock 500 and performer manifold, but would like to run EFI. I know there are a few different setups used by others, but was hoping to find a 4.6 system to start from, any advice would be appreciated, and any info on what others are running or have tried.
I havent yet found a cam, was trying to get a crane but they dont seem to do the Buick ones any more.
It will be getting a ZF auto and 4.11s with lockers.
If anyone wants a turbo 400 to lt230 adaptor, I can rescue one from the scrap metal bin, let me know, freight shouldnt be too bad.==sorry now spoken for.

There has been a couple of threads floating around on this...
One recently where someone with some skill's made some spacers, scalloped the EFI manifold and welded it all up.
Another which I think I started and it came down to getting some spacer manifolds to adapt the rover EFI stuff to the p76 motor they were from rova centre in skye?? if my head is working they were around the $400 mark for the pair and they do very limited runs.
in other words... search

I have bookmarked most of the threads on P76s but I have not found anyone using a 4.6 system.
I have seen the manifold that was manufactured and will probably copy his work if he hasnt patented it yet, it will be easier than cutting the manifold inside the injectors and extending the runners like I was thinking.
I have seen that some are running haltechs and megasquirt and even 3.5 flapper systems and wanted some advice on whether they thought the 4.6 system would work on a 5.0 or if it would need a lot of tuning.
I think I have been through every page of the rover forum, but some of my linked pages no longer work.

Yep, what he said. I got my (second) set from Rova Centre. My first were from Toorak Tractors in Braeside but weren't much chop. I think they are cheaper than $400 though.shakes wrote: Another which I think I started and it came down to getting some spacer manifolds to adapt the rover EFI stuff to the p76 motor they were from rova centre in skye?? if my head is working they were around the $400 mark for the pair and they do very limited runs.
I wouldn't bother with 4.6 injection specifically, just use any rover efi setup with an aftermarket ecu. Megasquirt comes to mind.

I have a set of spacers which I removed from my 4.4 as they kept getting air leaks and the SU HS6's were far too costly to run (worn out), and have a holley 350 on it at present. They will not be able to be match ported to the Buick heads though so I will make a new set to suit once I have the machined block and heads ready.
Is the megasquirt easy to set up, I was hoping a 4.6 setup may not need too much tuning work. Someone mentioned in one of the other threads they have a larger plenum than the 3.9, though they would be easier to find.

You can buy megasquirts pre made now, I can send you my setup and you could just bump the fuel map up a bit, it would be relitively straight forward.
I highly recomend one of these for getting the fuel just right.

I wish I had got one earlier, did most of my tuning by feel.
Megasquirt can also do closed loop with this sensor, so you just set the air / fuel ratio you want.

It can be setup and calibrated to run with any MAF sensor but is designed for a MAP sensor mounted in the ECU.
If you don't want MS to control the ign, you can set it up to get its signal from any dizzy's tach output.
I've got it controling the ign so I've picked the signal directly off the variable reluctor (the sensor in the botom of the GM HEI dizzy with 2 tiny wires comming off it).
I've had no air or oil leaks from the manifold, all sealing faces were metal to metal with loctite 515 flange sealant (good stuff).
