Intake manifold design help

Post by hulsty »

G'day all
I'm designing and building an intake manifold and would like to know if anyone has any information or links to help me along the way. What i'm looking for is info on runner length, diameter and plenum design. I've looked through google and havent come up with a great deal, particuarly with regard to plenums. Any help appreciated
cheers

ruff info plennum should be 1x motor capacity for N/A and 1.5x motor capacity for forced induction, thats a ruff guide not sure on the rest depends on what its for, flow n turbulence are imortant. If you dont have a flow bench it could make what ever its goin on run like shit

yamaha R6 motor bike engine, 4 stoke 600cc engine. Pretty much free what I can do, except I must run a 20mm intake restrictor after the throttle body. So far i'm looking at 28ish mm runnners with a 1.5ish L volume plenum chamber that is trapazoidal in shape to get even mass airflows to each cylinder. Any help appreciated

cheers
