'lecky mirrors 80 series

Post by ash_on_mtb »

GXL 80 series, '91 with the 'lecky mirrors- the drivers one has 2 planes of movement, up/down and left/right. The up down is fine, but the left right is like it has slipped free of its retainers, it wobbles back and forth horribly and makes me almost seasick!

How do I get behind the mirror to check it out? Does the mirror pop free, or does the whole thing have to come off? IF so, how do I get the whole assembly off...??

Cheers

Bottom of the mirror there's a hole, there's a screw up in there that holds the mirror, once undone lift it off its little hooks and bobs your uncle.

Mine was the same when i bought it. When i took the mirror off i found that one of the hooks had bust. I just put it back and tightened the screw at the bottom, tis fine now. G
