Water Trap for air system

Post by bogged »

Now I have phukt off the Precleaner box, the car gets more air.. But the system is airtight, so how does water going down the snorkel get out again?

The precleaner box has a sort of 1 way thing at the bottom, which worked which ever way the water was coming from...

Ideas?

i siliconed that valve up on mine and didnt see any water in the precleaner box as the ram head seperated the water from the air before it went down the snorkel.

I think you'll find the bottom tract in the snorkel will work as a sump also.

True, depends on the brand of head - not all will do this effectively on an airtight system - some are better.

I find the water still gets to the air box even with the Safari head. (small amount)
Because of that i didn't like the idea of silicone the air box drain so i fitted a small ball valve to the drain so it can be shut off for water crossings. :P
