Hilux front diff problems HELP

LOcked hub in the other day up the beach and as i was driving along loud clunking noise coming from front diff drained the oil and chunks of metal come out are these trucks prone for smashing crown and pinions or wat ?and does this sound like it is that ?

Because they drive off the coast side if you abuse them they can pop, odds are your up for new gears. Also denting the front of the diff can break off teeth too, ive seen that a few times before. You need to pull the centre out and make a proper diagnosis, your on the right track.

what sort of lux is it. but yeahi smashed front and rear crown and pinion sets on mine similtaneously and when i pulled the diffs a part there was a hand full of teethin the bottom of the housing

yeah make sure there isn't a dent on the diff seen one do 2 teath still working, There not the best diff out could have shat a bearing causing ring gear to mesh incorrectly with pinion and bang

yeh you have more than likely broke the crownwheel/pinion, i have broken a few diffs.

Hilux diffs are not real strong, pull it out and see but i bet this is what u have done..

Could possibly be a cv if it is clunking when turning as they are weak 2
