I have my snorkel now with the vit airbox setup. 3" mandrel steel and only just made so have to still grind it and paint it up. Cost $155 including the ram head. 120 for pipe only to be made.
thought people would like to see as if they are looking at conversion stuff.

Nick, I'll take some pics tonight of my setup- quite similar, except second battery and airbox are in different spots. Mine has a tab welded half way down which is fixed onto the A pillar with two screws.

Stainless - yeah, it's shiny, no other advantage I can see except it doesn't rust when you drag it on banks etc. Personally, I don't like the bling so mild steel is fine for me.
I don't see a bit of internal rust as a problem- I have had a mild steel snorkel on my Gwagen for years, parked outside. There is some light internal surface rust but nothing significant- but I have never seen any rust in the airbox.
The best way to fix a snorkel to bodywork is with rivnuts/nutserts.

yep i have a bit of flatbar welded to pipe and then two screws into a pillar and roof gutter section. will get a pic later.
rest of weight is with the rubber coupling on the airbox (tip - if u have or get a vit airbox keep the rubber inlet bit as it fits 3" pipe straight in) and on the fender hole.
the hole was a 86mm to start then die grinded to fit pipe on slant. i will be neatning it up a bit and put some rubber door seal around it.
