I might be back already

After selling our our paj I decided that I wanted a low k diesel 4by and pretty much well had it stuck in my head that I was getting an 80series or gq11. BUT........ I have stumbled across an 88nf turbo diesel pajjie with a genuine 108000ks on the clock, before I jump straight in and grab the lil beast can anyone give me an oppinion on these engines? Are they like any decent diesel engine (good for half a million ks with regular services) but really most importantly, will it be able to cope with me towing the race car around???
Jabber gone. Now have 98 nissan terrano and a 94 4.2ldiesel rv troopy on 33s slowly getting the fancy bits. How the hell do I change my user name?

It's a personal thing, but I wouldn't buy the 2.5. Performance unladen is barely adequate, it's not particularly economical, and it's as noisey as any Mitsu diesel.

I like the 2.8 much better.

As I said, just a personal opinion.

Depends on what you expect out of the vehicle.
I don't tow anything so with 33" tyres and being SWB its not too bad.

That said if your looking at the LWB and towing you couldn't look to get large tyres raise the vehicle etc as it would already be nearing its capabilities.

Mind you the cruisers with the 4.2 na (1hz) engines are not that good either capable of towing (slowly) but will last the distance.

I guess the 2.5 td pajero does NOT have the factory intercooler?
better for towing (keeping things cooler) and a bit more power.

Probably not an ideal vehicle but if the price is right

Those motors were bad with heads about that mileage. Do some research. Ive towed 2.5 tonne with one when I worked for Mitsu, and it did the job OK. Slow but OK. But it was also new.

I've got the NH 2.5TD and while it is no rocket ship (but the again I didn't buy it to go fast), I have found it to be economical.
