power window install

Post by 90Mav »

Braught some power windows today for the mav.... got the looms out of the doors and all the origional switch gear. the fun begins....

am only installing front as its a ute...

there are 4 wires leaving the drivers door (controller):
red/white, red/black, white/black, and black (earth i suppose)
i presume 2 of the wires goes to the passenger door and an earth.

there is also an extra plug (4 wires y/black, y/red, gr/black and gr/white)
this i believe is power in for the whole drivers side switch gear/controller, but i've been wrong before....

on the passenger side, there are 3 wires.. im thinking +12v from drivers side, so windows can be locked, +/-12v from the drivers side switch, and earth
these are coloured red/white, red/black, white black.

could someone confirm on a wiring diagram(or scan the page)
my assumption that:

passenger:
white/black = +/-12v from drivers side
red/white = +12v from drivers side
red/black = earth

drivers:
white/black = +/-12v controll to passenger side
black = earth

2nd plug
green/white = +12
green/black = earth
yellow/red = +12 to central locking switch
yellow/black = earth to central locking

this is all probably horribly wrong, gust my impression after looking at the looms. possibly there are relay's for the windows in the main loom???

sorry if this is a bit full on, but i don't want to blow up the controll box.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers Rhys.
