Rancho rs5000 or OME for 3in

Post by jtraf »

Need new shocks to suite the 3in lifted springs in the GQ LWB.

Is a daily drive for the other half and gets used offroad....

Am I better off with OME shock but no warranty as they are comp shocks or rancho rs5000 with 3 yrs warranty...

James,

RS5000's are so cheap in the US market they are almost free. I guess they are OK, but just because they are the same money as OME here doesn't mena they are comparable for quality.

Also, A don't believe that Rancho offer a shock valved specifically for a Patrol as they are a US company and have never seen one. Certainly, my Rancho application book does not list a Patrol fitment. Valving might be right..... might not be too.

I would go OME every time. I believe that it is many years since OME had notable reliability problems with their shocks.

When I was dealing with the Rancho distributor I faound their service lacking and they clearly believed their own marketing BS. Other than the very long custom application shocks, and a few part numbers I have worked with, I would find it difficult to recommend Rancho product.

Just my 2c

Steve.
