Quick question: the 2.85 gear set contains what...
I must be mentally handicapped.
I installed my 2.85's myself, and now I tore them back out myself.
The 2.85 kit contains three helical cut gears, and one helical cut black spacer correct?
I want to shit can all the other pieces of the tcase but I want to me sure I am not throwing out any of the 2.85 pieces first.
That would royally suck.
I am almost positive it is three big gears, all helical cut, and the black spacer that sits on the back of the one gear.
Thanks,

95SR: locked front and rear, more coming soon.

Yes there are 3 helical cut gears in the front of the t/case (they are all connected so to speak) : -
- input gear
- low range gear
- idler (counter) gear
The input gear has the backlash eliminator (a thin spacer looking thing).
The input gear is what mates to the splined output shaft of the transmission.

Thank you for the confirmation Frank. I have all the parts it seems!!
I am waiting patiently for the 3.15's
I think for now the money from selling the 2.85's is going to need to go to paying for food before I starve lol.

Frank, Doug or others....
The gears Doug removed all those months ago are still not installed in a rig, and I got to thinking.... if my buddy is not gonna put em in my old rig, wonder if I would buy them off him and put em in my lil oil burner.... but if I am to understand, Dougie's t-case gears were for auto, so one of the gears is different than what I'd need with my stick?

Phil, you will need the input gear.
This is the gear that mates to the output shaft on your transmission.
The auto input gear is 23 spline and about 5mm longer than the manual 24 spline version.
I'll check with Mark to see if he has any input gears lying around and let you know.
We could do a direct swap.

Oh really? Wow Vic, that would be handy. But shipping for both ways would probably kill me eh?Bitsamissin wrote:Phil, you will need the input gear.
