Aussie Locker

Post by suprasurf »

Anybody in Oz got one ??

Probably not as I hear they are only marketing / selling in North America.

BUT I am installing for a customer a 4WD SYSTEMS LOKKA this weekend and when it arrived I opened the box and inside was what I rekon is an "AUSSIE LOCKER" :?: :?:

I have a LOKKA in my Toy and have installed a few of them over the last 12 months. BUT this new one is different it has proper pins (see pic ) and the holes to fit the springs are now slots ( see pic )

The pic is from the review at Pirate and is exactly the same as what I have here in the LOKKA box :?

I was told by Aussie Locker that they were similar but with improvements.

Lets hope so! My lokka only lasted 2 1/2 days of street driving. Although the failure may have been caused by something else?

could the fact that it was second hand when you purchased it have anything to do with it do you think?

I've heard of far too many failures of thoise things to take 'em seriosuly and given the Aussie locker is made by the same company - you figure out what I think of THAT product ;)

The lokka was brand new but the cross shaft/pin was second hand as was the carrier and gears.

We think that the cross shaft may have fractured due to the harshness of the new lokka thus damaging the lokka when it broke in two.

Aussie Locker and Lokka are both made in Adelaide by 4WD Systems. They are the same thing.

I spoke to the Aussie Locker guy sin the USA and they won't sell them into Australia. I asked casue it was heaps cheaper to buy them from Aussie Locker and ship them back than buy direct from 4WD Systems.

From memory the Lokka brand came to life after the patent slipped on the Lock Right.
