IRONMAN WINCHES...ARE THEY ANY GOOD

Hi people,
I am looking for a new winch for my 73 series Landcruiser and I was wondering if anyone has had anything to do with Ironman winches.
I am considering the 10000lb winch, which i belive would have more than enough grunt to pull my middy out of just about anything.
It would be great to hear from anyone that has had anything to do with them or that might even just know someone that has.
I am after as much info as i can get on them and it would be great to hear as much feedback as possable, either positive or negative.
Well thanks for taking the time to read my post i hope someone out there can help me with some usefull info.

Dont forget to think about how your going to power it. One of those expenses that not many think about until after they get the winch. It can add quite alot to your budget.Will you need, twin new batteries, switching etc.... :roll:

put it straight on your main battery :?


i wouldn't waste your money putting new batteries in, if you have a good main battery say a N70 or equivalent and a good alternator then leave it alone. save ya money and buy a warn!

if you wreck a warn, you can buy that specific part. ironman. dont know em, dont want to!

i have one and it was one of the 1st, it had a few theething problems but they got me a fix and its been real good ever since. and iv done a few long hard pulls with it too.

I don't want to bag Ironman cause the suspension they put in the rear of mine works a treat, but when I was getting it fitted they had a lot of reject winches in a crate in their workshop. It would make me think twice. What abouit some of the TJM winches :?:

ours is great. there a top brand winch renamed
1993 Gq lwb with added xtra's :) sold
fj60,lifted,35s,33s for daily, 3f power!

Over the years we have developed the winch to be better, we do not just buy one off the shelf, it is built to our design . The ones in the crate are parts from developement and testing. With 14 4wds in the fleet, we also chop and changes parts fairly regularly. You would have also see suspension parts in the crate next to it

t-max is the way to go for budget and reliability.

Yep I did, like I said though, the suspension you put in mine works a treat, and that is a perfectly good explanation for the crate of winch bits.
