Yes it is expensive if you are a family but if you have four paying adults its only $46.75 each! I dont think thats too bad considering its full linen and (i think) a log fire place :D I have booked a 3 bedroom!!! Sleeps 9 - cant wait!!

Tough Tracks 4x4 Club will soon be sending out letters to members and competitors from round 2. This letter will detail the club's position on in-appropriate vehicle modifications (in-complete body cuts, tube chassis, excessively cut down doors etc), safety (window nets, recovery points, recovery gear, everything stowed properly, fire extinguishers, etc), CTP and rego papers (matching legible chassis numbers), battery isolators actually shutting engines and electricals off completely etc etc.

It will be necessary that all competitors comply with the clubs rules or you will not be allowed to compete - regardless if you have paid your money or not AND regardless if you have competed in our events before or not.

This is a stand we have to make to ensure that our club insurance is not deemed null & void should a situation occur where we have to make a claim. We have 'been nice' before and allowed people to compete because they had journeyed out to the comp grounds and we did not want to turn them away.

But no more 'Mr Nice Guy' !!!

For Newbees we will also have to make this letter available through the Tough Tracks website and we will endevour to finish this letter ASAP to give all competitors as much time as possible to ensure that their vehicles comply.

The existing rules are published on the Tough Tracks web site www.toughtracks.org/forum for all to see. Please ensure that you have read these rules. If you require clarification of the rules or are unsure about vehicle mods that you have done or wish to do then please pm myself or STIKA and we will get an answer back to you.

3.4.14 BODY

The body of the make of the vehicle shall be readily recognised and shall be
the same manufacturer as the chassis.
• The combination of body and chassis may be updated with body and chassis elements from later models of the same make of vehicle.
• Body alterations are permissible to a maximum of 50% of the side profile of the original make of vehicle regardless of model.
• The determination of the 50% is based on an area being the portion of the side view that is added or removed from the total area determined by the rectangle of the extreme forward and rearward points, the roof and the ground of the original vehicle
.
• Body lifts shall be limited to 75mm and shall be completed in a safe and
secure manner and the spacers shall be a non-crushable material and the
bolts shall be the same diameter as the original body mounting bolts and
• at least grade 8. There shall be the same number of body mounts and supports as the original chassis and body combination.
• Additional mudflaps flares and doorsill may be added for protection.

I dont think I see anything against cut down doors....... :? Not for this year anyway.
