i agree with tufenuf as rus69 drives his car every day he drove it home on the sunday unloaded some of the gear incuding his camping gear and has been driving it to work all week actualy all bar 1 of the rocky cars drove home on sunday arve so that proves that wat tufenuf says is right not always is bigger better. it just makes it more expensive
if it aint forced it wont go

There has been a hilux doing pretty well at winch challenges for a few years (just did not know the front diff would not release from lock when we went to Rocky shit happens). The hilux runs standard rear end with coils between the leafs & chassis, standard bundera front end, some bracing on a standard highmount winch with air freespool & run on 24 volts, was driven from the Gold Coast to Landcruiser Park & back after winning round one. Yes I do have a V8 in it now, which was done to try for a better result at the Outback Challenge. 2005 series was won with a 3Lt. diesel motor. All my mods have a blue plate. I am happy to run against the coilovers & big horsepower. Driver ability is a big part in this sport & from what I saw at Rocky Russ is a brilliant driver. Do all the mods you want I will still have FUN.

Here,Here, i agree with you Lawrie just because you have a bigger budget than the next guy doesn't neccessarily mean you will win at the winch challenges.
I have an 80 series that has all standard running gear except for diff locks and some 35" tyres and a 4" susp lift and we do pretty well and are getting better the more events we do.
Bring on the big dollar mods it won't change the fact that we all love racing and shouldn't carry on like little kids, as long as we all have fun isn't that what its all about???

Cheers Lepar (Troy).

thats what i was trying to say, you dont need to have a huge truck to do well. thats what i love about this sport the biggest and best truck can go out and stake a tyre.

You'd better! We are looking for someone to beat us again. :D
I've got my fitness regíme for Tamworth underway. The low voltage ciggies are working  so we will be closing in a little faster.
Troys doing alright hanging onto the steering wheel so I thought I should pick up my end.
Cheers,
Ryano
