no such thing,
unless u meant 4.5 petrol which is what i have ;)
if so your looking at 15-18 per hundred on the highway loaded up for a weekend
and 20 plus around town empty for DD duties.
all depends on how hard you drive

The TB42 is the only vehicle i know of where fuel economy is quoted in LITRES per KILOMETRE!!!!!
The only thing you cannot pass on the road in them is a service station.

want a 4.2L engine and get economy, 4.2L Diesel or 4.2L Turbo Diesel, I have N/A diesel atm and i am getting around 630K's to 90L of Diesel around town, on the Freeway i am getting just over 800K's to a tank.

thats around the 15L/100K's, Turbo gets better than that.

gq on gas 25L to the 100 at 46 cents a liter = $11.50
gq on diesal 15L to the 100 at $1.32 a liter = $19.80
based on price at the pump today
I'll stick to my gas

Yeah if you have gas, more power to ya, you get more power than N/A diesel. i had Gas before i got Diesel, and nothing beats the feeling of cheap running 4x4, and with the no stall on hill factor of the engine on gas, brilliant.

on the Central Coast, LPG costs around 53c to 55c a litre.

Doing 23-25L/100 on petty at around $1.30/L you can see why alot of people who don't have gas prefer Diesel :)

25L to the 100 at 55cents a liter =$13.75
and at the moment if you can find a gas man that won't take advantage john howard will pay for your gas conversion for you in full

and over a long trip where gas not allways avalible ie crossing simpson will workout similar to a diesal to run over the full trip

My old carby GQ TB42 got around 30lt per 100km around town (mostly short trips) and on the highway around 25lt per 100km.

Since then bought a 2.8TDi GU getting around 11km per 100km and with a chip, bigger exhaust and blocked EGR, about the same peak torque and power figures.

Don't buy the 4.2 petrol if you are concerned at all about fuel consumption.

Cheers
