blue slips

blue slips
might sound dumb but can you get blue slips done in qld ive just bought new 4wd just over the border and can i get blue slip done there before i pick it up or get it done back in nsw when i get home.thanks for any help
yeah rito thanks i'll get it done here, if i bring it down here tomorrow and hes going to cancel the rego up there on monday after wkend and i have to drive it 100km to get blue slip done on next fri wont it be unregistered, what do i do there, sorry if these these questions are stupid bnut this is the first car ive bought interstate.any help is apprecciated

Only if he intends on keeping the rego in the state it is already registered. The way i read it, he wants to change states in which its registered, so it will need a blue slip if its intended to change from QLD to NSW rego.

Yep you will have to get a blue slip in NSW then re register your car. You have 7-14 (cant remember) days to do this, Although you can claim the existing registration back from the other state......the catch is you have to hand in the plates in QLD and ask for the cash back.

a blue slip should only really take 15mins or so.
