suspention flex

I have 92 single cab hi-lux 2.4 petrol
in the front suspention i have
parabolic springs with standard shackles
dropped drag link and was told a sliding torque rod with pro comp shocks
on rear
efs springs with one leaf taken out with pro comp shocks in /\ position with standard shackles

y can't i get flex

its all to do with shackle angle, gross weight, the efs springs and shocks

some highluxes are too light to give good flex, try lighter springs or go off road with a bit of extra weight on board

Try parabolics on the back too

Shocks may be limiting?

Oh and shackle angle is the most important!

Hey m8. Have you got any pics of your truck at flex so i can have a look... from what you ahve said you got it should flex relitevly well. Take another lief out of the rear, go extented shackles.. This is mine with tampered with lief packs, and standard shackles.. dont even have A frame shocks... These are same spot just different sides of the truck

And you would have more travel with longer shocks, i can see from the photo your shocks are at full travel and looks like the brakelines are tight also.. Jst thought i would mention

here's a pamp queen pic with parabolic's in the front i found them to have a hard ride (Harder than RUF) but very flexy

maybe take shockies of and flex it then BE CAREFULL not to stretch brake lines have a mate guide you this will show if shockies are to short

Mate, Getting a hilux to flex at the front is no hard task, the rear is a different story but mainly due to the lack of weight over the rear axle. Z()LTAN is right there and with the shackle angle as well. We really need to see some pics to see what its doing/not doing

Heres mine with EFS 2" kit, overload leaf removed from rear ( will have longer shackles soon )

Hey m8, yeh i no the shocks are too short, i had ironman shitboxes and they were a waste of ime, brought them longer ones for cheap and they are still too short, gonna rip them out and flex it up then get my longer ranchos, and i dont need to worry bout the brake lines,the shock stops them from braking and there is a lil movement, just eneogh. they are extended already lol but once i get the new shocks then ill have to get the new lines.. AGAIN

Oh and guys, not to protects siclux, but were talking about how to get it to work arnt we? So realy it dosen matter were he gets the flex from its still there? Am i right in saying so

as it is not our truck in pic's as silly me (better half )does not know or quite understand how to get pic"s up asking son for help or some one can come show me

Yeah rear is only half open thats where i got lost as front was very flexy and rear was too stiff it's sorted out now found a happy half way

yeah, the superiors on the back allow rear flex, which amplifies the already good flex on the front of a lux.

The weight on the 2 leaf design at the front worx well

but the ass end of a lux is so light that artificial flex is needed

Now runs ruf and 2or3 less leaves in the rear so the front being a little less flexy has made the rear work better.

Hey rusty nice flex, what is your shackle angle like on the rear with the IFS springs?
Is the mount on the chassis in the original position?

I have rears with no overload springs, 2" longer shackles and track bar.
Flex is ok.
