Vitara gearbox question

Post by Goldey »

Okay all

Did a search but did not find what I was after.

Has anybody swapped out their manual box for a 4 speed auto in a Vitara?

My clutch is getting iffy and I am looking at dropping the box to do the clutch OR spring the extra dollars to put a second hand 4 speed auto in instead. Feeling a bit soft in my old age.

How easy are 4 speed autos to find (keep in mind I will need the auto ecu and the wiring loom for it).

Cheers

some A44DE's had a seperate transmission ECU whilst others were
controlled from the engine ECU according to the service manuals.

Make sure you get ALL the bits you need.

easyer to sell your vit and buy an auto one.

it will end up costing/ and taking longer than you think.

Maybe the 3psd option would b better to fit up ...no computer then ...but you may be wanting the overdrive of the later model I guess .. :?:

I have a spare 4spd

and a 3spd ....

but they arent goin anywhere other than into a new rig ...well atleast the 3spd the 4spd is the spare I have for MY VIT in case it says enough pushing 37"s and neutrel to 1st gear drops  ..........
