in QLD this would be illegal to do anyway due to all the new laws that have just come out.

They have to be fitted behind the drivers view and basicly only for the rear passengers now.

No idea what the fine would be.

providing they are fitted properly, (earth wire to the e-brake lever) it is still legal to fit them in the front of the vehicle..

a way areound this it to take that single wire that goes to the ebrake and connect it to a switch and a relay. run one wire to earth and one to the handbrake lever. so it still works off your handbrake (vehicle not in motion) and flick the switch and it just earths the wire out so you can use it on the run, prolly not advisable with the sunviser type as they will see them 100% but a indash would be fine.

cheers mark

You'll need to hook up to your sound system as well. The easiest way is to connect your dvd player or ps2 to an FM transmitter and send the signal to your radio. Otherwise, change your radio unit and buy one with RCA input.

Have thinking about this for a while but a few problems come to light, fit a dvd/tuner in the dash with flip down screen for the rear but then you cant use the radio, fit a flipdown screen/dvd on the roof but then the hassle of wiring the bugger in, easiest and cheapest to buy a cheap portable unit and use velcro to attach to back of seat or on centre console.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

hey i got a dvd player and monitor in the vitara. its a seperate deck which connects to the monitor and plugs into the cig lighter and just plugs into the AUX on ur deck if u got one so u can run the sound through ur system or else it just got speakers on the monitor. Also got tv tuner crappy reception but so thinking bout gettin a diversity antenna for it. but no need to wire it threw anything i kno its illegal but dont really use it much as normally drivin alone. i got the deck sittin in the glove box and lock it wen not usin it and take the screen out wen no intention of using it, less chance of gettin stolen.
