Purchase advice
Thats an RB30 mate similar engine to VL commodore and R31 skyline but has a different fuel system they run a carby setup but it is a good reliable engine and not prone to many problems but im unsure on the power or economy of it in the patrols.

Depends what your looking for, A nice truck that will take you every where or a highway cruiser.
For that sort of money you could have a TD with a bit of a rough body.
I paid $4k for my GQ LWB wagon and have since spent $2k on it.
Its TD 4.2L bit rough but until tonight I have never had to pulled out of anything I attemped and I try some stupid tracks.
Just some food for thought.
Personally I wouldnt even consider a Petrol GQ for any thing over $2 to $3k.

Serviced every 5000kms a TD42 will generally last 500,000 - 600, 000kms. Having said that though once they get over the 300,000kms showing on the clock ait is always a good idea to have a mechanical inspection done on the engine (compression, etc) as evrybody selling one will tell you it has been serviced every 5000kms - nobody is every going to say yeah I only service it every 20,000kms or when ever I remember.
Cheers
