Hi,
I have just gone spring over on my 73 series cruiser and i am wondering what my best options are with shocks now. I had my lower shock mounts mounted on the diffs and i am going to try and get away with using the Tough Dog shocks i had in it with 2.5 inch lifted springs for a little while but will be doing more mods with top shock mount possition as soon as the finances get a bit healthier again.
I was hopeing that someone could give me some advise as to what the best thing to do with the top mounts is. I will be looking to get the longest shocks i can under it so i can get the full use out of my spring over.
Another thing i should mention is tha in the near future i am also hopeing to upgrade to a set of drop shackles in the rear and a set of 2 inch extended shackles in the front so i also want to take this into concideration when modifying my shock mounting points and choosing the shocks.
Well I hope there are some people that can help me and i look forward to hearing any suggestions that might come my way.
Cheers
Darren

What shocks now i have gone spring over???
My cruiser might not be Pretty, it might not be Fast, but, IT'S BLOODY TOUGH!!!
Mate at this point in time i would be paying up your life insurance, before you go to put drop shackles and extended shackles making your COG higher, you may aswell start looking for parts to fix your car now and have them on standby.
What is the need to go higher???????
Get your spring packs sorted out and you won't need (death) drop shackles that basically have uncontrolled flex. Do a search on here and you will find there are a number of people that have really good flex out of leaf springs without the use of drop/extended shackles.

Thanks heaps for your advise. I was only acctually considering drop shackles after being told by a couple of people that they were good. I have got really nice soft spring packs that sit nice and flat when sitting there and they do flex heaps. Do you think I would gain from modifying my shock mounts and if so what are the best options. I hope you can help with some advise on location of shock mounts to help me get the most out of my spring over.
Cheers
