what is a Nissan 'The Ute'?

According to Redbook Nissan Australia sold a model called 'The Ute' from 88 to 91.

its a falcon ute, in the tradition of model sharing we saw in the late 80s and 90s

Just read this and knew nothing about this, but now that you it has been mentioned i have seen a xf ute driving round my way with a red nissan badge on the front and allways thought he was a dick but that must be the nissan ute model mentioned

Had one of these utes myself,89 model nissan xfn ute.basically a falcon with nissan badges.

Yep that's them. They were called the XFN and were only every a few hundred made. You very rarely see them these days. There is one around here that is done up as a wanna be truck (B&S style) which I'll try and grab a pic of for you next time I see it but they really were just a rebadeged XF Falcon ute

ahh you're right! now you mention it I've seen a falcon ute with nissan decals on the tailgate.
