URGENT Help needed

Post by disco95 »

Hi guys, I'm in the process of stripping an R380 (type B according to the manual). I've hit a snag from the start. How in hell do you remove the rear main seal collar???? The manual says to use three special LR tols together to do the job. Surely there is a way to do it without these tools.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. Vehicle is a 1995 V8 Disco.

you can chisel it off and put a new 1 on (11 bucks)
or if you have an oxxy you can heat it gently and slide it off
i had a stubborn 1 once that i had to cut off with a drill and nut breaker

If it is the same as an LT77, then I just used a wheel puller to pull the 5th gear extention housing off, and it pulled the collar off with it.
