I could suggest any PDA as such.

But you should get a bluetooth GPS phuck with it.

So get a PDA with bluetooth and WIFI or wireless networking for OZI.

A fast CPU and lots of ram.

Dunno about cheapy, but i have a iPaq HX4700 that i run Tomtom and OziCE on, and use a bluetooth GPS with it, works great!
You can buy them online for around $750, not sure if thats 'cheap' for you though.

Will i need windows installed on it to use tomtom and ozi? (do they basically work the same as a pc?) or do i just load what i want on there and thats it?

It comes with Windows Mobile, so its a Windows operating system on the PDA.

As long as it has an expandable card slot (to hold the maps) and runs Windows PDA operating system, it should be fine. I'd go the bluetooth GPS receiver route which means the PDA should have bluetooth.
You'd get a second hand one on eBay for $300 - $400.

I am running a Dell Axim 51 with Ozi , compact flash gps + have to run a 4gb sd card for maps, it gets 'chuggy' from time to time and freezes up for a short time,not too much of a drama but now have to load co-pilot live compact edition on or some other form of navi software, tomtom etc, possibly will make it slower again.
Mate has a Garmin iQue M4 - A$649 inc GST and free delivery from http://www.gpsoz.com.au/index.htm, works great, and you can load extra maps on, and it is already setup to do everything + built in GPS, thinking of upgrading or going all out with smaller laptop,

If you can afford the $$$$$ look at a 12' laptop and run bluetooth gps, and co-pilot live laptop edition, you have the best of both then and a bigger better screen, which is easier for mapping offroad, and you can run wifi, and surf the net whilst out and about ( if you have the right software!!) then you need to look at www.ram-mount.com. or make your own,
Like I said It's all a question of $$$$$$

Any hp pda that has an sd/cf card slot and either bluetooth or serial capabilites will work, anywhere from $100-$1000 depending on what else you want it for. Get one that at least runs Pocket PC 2003 OS or Win mobile 3-5 and dont get a palm.
I have a HP Ipaq 4150 and fit all of vic and nsw plus tomtom maps on a 2gig sd card with room to spare, it has bt and wifi and stays in my car in a cheap ebay suction cup holder thats is fine offroad. you can source all the software off the web for nada. I originally got a bt gps but now use a permanently wired cable gps mouse which is easier to use, just turn on the pda and its working, bt you have to pair first before opening ozi or TT.

thanks for the replys. One of the ipaq's seems the go. Hows the visibillity of the screen go in sunlight and at night? is the brightness/contrast adjustable?

Yes, brightness and contrast is adjustable on my Ipaq. Both Ozi and TomTom also have different colour settings and night vision mode.

I picked up an old "hx" model for $200 on Ebay. It runs both these programs no worries.

Unless it's got a PCMCIA slot to house a tv capture type card I can't see it working, there just isn't the input for a video feed I don't think.

You might be able to hook up a bluetooth webcam to do it, if they even exist...

I got a HP IPaq RX1950 for $150 from Ebay. Haicom HI204III gps with 12v adapter and lead into IPAQ for $130 or thereabouts from Johnny Appleseed. RAM suction mount about $70.00 from same. All up the setup cost about $350.00 tops.

The RX1950 doesn't have bluetooth but that's not an issue for me and personally I prefer having the GPS and the IPAQ powered from the same 12V as it means I don't have to worry about batteries or a second power source for the GPS.

The RX1950 copes easily with Ozi and Tom Tom and so far I've been pretty happy with the setup.

the only pda that has inputs that might take a reverse cam is toshiba as some have a usb port.

Super cheap have a wirelees camera/screen setup for $200 or so.

or would you need software to run it???
