It varies from point to point, for e.g A+B pillar mountings minimum requirement is 100x100x3mm (15,000mm2) and rear stays is 80x80x3mm (6000mm2) this is for vehicles that weigh over 1151 kg and its also the specs for an internal cage, this meets ccda and cams specs.
