$220 for 1" ball joint spacers
sway bar spacer
diff spacer (to drop the diff, so the cv angle stays same)
This said, its is bloody hard as to see them once fitted. I doubt anyone would even pic them on an inspection. But it is your insuranv=ce not mine so it is up to you wether you put them in or not. Will reduce the strain on your cv`s though as you can wind them back down if they are alreay adjusted (if so desired).

I got a set of 1.5" ball joint spacers from this guy in the US for my 2003 Hilux for $109 USD for the pair. The quality of the aluminium machined blocks from this guy are fantastic. My torsion bars were at standard height when I had the spacers installed. Camber and caster got completely fawked. Took 2 alignments to get em sorted cos the alignment shop didn't understand what I said when I told em there were ball joint spacers installed until I pointed em out.
I'm still running my standard length shocks, 10mm spacer on the thread at the top. I put 2x1.5mm thick washers under the down travel bump stop to limit suspension droop a little because the CVs were binding a bit at full droop and lock. The upper arm had to be trimmed a bit to fit the blocks as well.
Instead of the CV boots turning freely like they used to before the spacers they tend to get "twisted up" while the arms are drooping and I'm turning. Had to tighten the outer CV boot clamps as well cos the grease started leakin past the clamps with the increasd strain on the boots.
If you want to lower your diff to reduce strain on the CV joints http://www.4crawler.com also sells diff lowering parts. I'm not too comfortable dropping my diff below the level of the front crossmember tho cos that crossmember takes quite a bit of abuse offroad.
I'm really happy with the extra 1.5" of up travel now. I don't hit the up travel bump stops as much anymore and the ride is a bit more comfortable. I still get the same range of down travel unlike the reduced range from cranking the torsion bars because the position of upper arms in relation to the bump stops hasn't changed.
If you painted the blocks black and only got the 1" ones I doubt they would get detected during an inspection.

I make the aloy Ball Joint Spacer kits.
If you are interested, you can contact me - v6hilux@optusnet.com.au or v6hilux@hotmail.com
The spacer kits are fantastic when it comes to keeping some down travel in the front suspension with the extra lift and allows bigger tyres to be fitted
It's a 2 hour install, but may take a longer, the first time you do it.

I'm the sharpest tool in the shed!
1" bj spacers wont be visible. 1.5" ones are slightly visible. It's not possible to get the suspension geometry right with 1.5" spacers. Camber is always going to be a little off. Stick with the 1" spacers where you should be able to get it properly aligned. You'll need a proper front end alignment done after install.
