Turbo in 3.0TD

anyone know what sort of turbo is in a 2003 hilux 3.0TD, engine 1KZ-TE ???

How much would it cost to rebuild?

mine is stuffed fan blade thing melted and need a new one or rebuild .but i want the same one to make labor easy so i can fit it.

ring garret and ask them should be some numbers on it witch will tell you what size it is,try toyota to some of them are fairly cheap for brand new.

The turbo on a 1KZ is a CT12B, same designation as the turbos on a 2JZ, but with possibly different sized wheels, especially the compressor wheel.

Yes, its CT12b. Should find at breakers yard...as mentioned abobe.

is the fan blade thing the exhaust turbine? Cos you'd be looking at some serious temps to melt that.

yeah thats it i was told thats probably melted i hooked an intercooler and uped the bost an extra 2psi .

after a month it just stopped boosting from 11psi down to about 5 psi now

i was told i melted the exhuast turbine ( i rememeber from you sayin it ) because the egt s were too high

i thought egts were lower with an intercooler but the guy said it could still melt the turbine thing anyway so i am stumped really . i checked all vacumn linesand intercooler intakes and everything is ok .

what can make your car lose bost like that it runs great still no smoke or anythin just real slow

waste gate stuck open a little

if its the wastegate how do i fix it do i have to take the turbo off .. i dont know that much about the turbo itself what would i be looking for ???
