The bracket does not bother me.[working with steel is what I do] Its the drive that does. What sort of belt does yours run and at what ratio. Do you know what RPM the blower runs at compared to the engine^--This Way Up--^ wrote:what sort of blower is it? got a STA supercharger bolted to mine, lots of fiddly work mounting especialy if u have to fabricate the bracket yourself.

Thanks. Any segestions are great. We are on the fence at the moment. Turbo or supercharger????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????gqpete wrote:i had a vortex. not much gain for all the hassels. belt kept flying off at high rpm's. got to cramped in the engine bay, had intercooler as well. had enough, went turbo. far less hassle and way more performance for your buck. cheers

I have darrens and petes old vortech blower on mine, not sure on any technical details but have sorted out the belt throwing problem. Turned out pulley was slightly out of line and belt was just a bit big. I like the type of power my setup makes, sure not as big figures as the turbo guys but a much tamer and progressive surge with good torque.

Thanks. This is what i need to know. I can put any pully on the crank, but with your input hopefully I can work out the correct pully for the job.^--This Way Up--^ wrote:not to sure on the drive ratios, the pullys came with the blower as for the belt
it uses a 6PK similour to the belt the commodore uses. i wouldnt mind gearing it for more psi but i dont think this type of belt will hold the horsepower.
Do you have any problems with belt slipping and did you have to move the radator or fan to fit the new pully on the crank?
