I wouldn't think so, they have 4 valves per cylinder variable valve timing etc. All the manifolding would be different and the engine management as well.
It's all the little things that add up on costs, alternator, water pump, coil on plugs, a myriad of vacuum and water hoses to get and fit.
It would probably be cheaper to get a complete wrecked 4.8 GU and get everything with it.

i was thinking like alternator etc...
like if i was to pull my complete tb45 out and drop the 48 in

nothing fits, different clutch, bell housing, manifolds, alternator, starter motor, injection, etc,

if your going to do it you are going to have to start from scratch.
