37" fitment CRR

Post by UrbanRedneck »

Hey there guys i am doin my head in here with the choice of what tyre to go for next i realy want to go for something large and was thinking of a maxxis creepy crawley in a 37x12.5x15.
But at $400 a corner it would be an expensive exercise to buy them and find that there is no way possible that they will fit
So what i am after is anyone that may have fitted something of this size and what was needed to fit them IF IT IS AT ALL POSSIBLE

If not i will be purchasing the 35x12.5x15

Thanx in advance

Read your sig?

Seriously, nothing motivates you like having some tyres in the shed.

I say buy them and then make them fit.

What diff's are you running??

You can get the tyres to fit - its just how long you want to drive before you break something :D

Check the members post up your rovers thread and check Brads 2dr - he runs 37 boggers and it mean as.

Good luck,

Ye i should just make them fit  think i might, just put the glass flares on though spose will soon find out was thinking of bumping the lift up another inch as i have 2+2 at the moment and extending the bump stops to stop from going to far up in the guard.
How much would be recomended to extend the bump stop?

Ye Ye i know all about range rovers week spot the diffs as i have already broken and replaced my fare share of them using the current 34 JTs (altered the use of the loud pedal)havent broken one for a while now.At the moment i want to put in some 4.11s and then when money allows(Read the BOSS) will upgrade to maxis but till then will stay off the skinny pedal. :D :D :D

If anyone has anymore suggestion on setups ie.suspension or rims (offset or no) as i am using offsets at the moment that would be great.
ps Dave your not wrong Brads 2 door is way cool just what i am after Cheers

2" in the body an 4" in suspension should see u sit em in easy not sure on how much they scrub but if your gonna be hopping off the skinny pedal for a while it wont matter

im going the lra 2.5" body lift kit as it seems fairly decent an has everything to lift the bars as well

also Equip 4x4 have some nice extended bump stops but there very very pricey

My 85 4 Door ran Q78 . Not as big but I ran 3 inch suspension and 2 inch body.

Panelbeated seam on firewall flat.

Longer front bump stops out of 4 Runner Coil Rear. Progressive so slowed them on compression.

Rear, extended ball joint mount up 1 inch and back 2 inches . Cut and braced rewelded.

80 Series reap progressive bumpstops.

Still rubbed but much less.

Standard 15 x 8 Offset and LRA old style flares

Are you seriously thinking of running 37's on stock rover gear?

Don't waste your time, put the money into upgrading your diffs/axles first. If you are going into terrain where you reckon 37's are going to help, you should be running lockers anyway.

Ye i realy wanted to upgrade the driveline first but as i need new tyres aswell one has to come before the other and i think rubber hoops win out at the moment because whats the use of having lockers and stuff if you havent got the rubber to drive on. And there is no use buying tyres that i dont want and have to change them again when i do the driveline EXPENSIVE.

Thanx to the guys who say that yes it can be done and for the handy hints given along with it this will help alot.
Sounds like people are able to do it with pretty much stock gear so until the budget allows the couple of grand for the upgrade guess i will go with what needs replacing first :D
