Hey Guys,
It seems my Vitara has no wiring for a trailer at all. Would it be hidden somewhere, or will I have to do it all from scratch?
If I have to do it from scratch, I assume I just wire it in parralell of the rear lights/blinkers?
Cheers
Chris

Vitara Trailer Wiring

regardless of factory or not, it should be there, somewhere . Even if the previous owners took it to a tow bar joint I highly doubt they would have said don't worry about the wiring
I know its a bot obvious, but if you haven't already, check on the bumper, if there's a bit that pulls away, sorta like a false floor

Just an update - I haven't left the house for a week cause I have been sick. I'll let everyone know what I find.
But I've had the rear bar off before and never seen any conection. The tow bar had a plug (which got ripped off on my 1st 4x4 trip) so I assumed it was plugged in, but it had no wiring into it.

look around the tail lights for the loom and see if it has been touched.
thats usually the easiest place to get trailer plug wires.
how old is the towbar?

I manged to find the wiring. It was tucked away on top of the fuel tank. Fortunatly I am not scared of yanking on wires to see where they go.
It had previously been connected, as it was stripped, and then taped up. Not sure why they would have disconected it.
For future searchers - It comes out under the left tail light/blinker.
Cheers

it depends on who installed it. it could come out anywhere. or even inside still, depending on the cable/plug that was usedeXc wrote:
