have you been roadworthy'd in mansfield

Post by mudmav »

hey guys i heard on the grape vine that recently the rta along with those lovely people from victoria police have been seen around mansfield and they have been putting defects aka canary's on vehicles, aparently they seem to be targeting 4wds, with large lifts or tyres. Can anyone put any substance to this rumour at this stage cause i am kinda worried.

A mate got done here in ipswich queensland, he's got a gu ute, done for 35's and cracked head light.
Cop said you can only go 16mm over standard tyre diameter.
Resulted in no fine but had to take it back to cop shop or DOT
to show them it was fixed and to get the defect lifted.
But if he gets cought again with the 35's on it, it will get impounded for 48 hours under the anti hooning laws.

Yea bullshit. they can issue a primary defect notice to fix any minor rwc issues, they can also temporarily cancel your rego if you do not comply within the 30 days or if it a serious defect it can be on the spot.

Show me where in the reg's it state's they can repo his car for a rwc issue

I drove through Mansfield without an exhaust. Busted clean off at the bottom of exhaust manifold. Was noisy as hell and nobody seemed to care.

Like all road use. If a cop see's you being a farkwit. They will pull you over. They will then do an attitude test. If you fail this cos your still a farkwit. They will go out of your way. To make live hard for you. Just for shits and giggles.

Another thing why is this thread in the nissan section. Is it here just cos cops dont like Nissans or is there a better reason. I am sorry to say but they pick on all brands. Even astra's.

There has been a lot of new laws introduced from 01/07/07 but I haven't been told about that one...well not for Victoria .

ill back sloshy on the anti hoon law thing as what he said is exactly the same as i was told by some one in skyline club apparently they had something on it on some forum.the case of driving home putting the standards on getting the canary removed then putting the biggens back on has gone for the not so brave. i thought it was warning wth vehicle check when rectified for the 1st,2nd was 48 hr impoundment and 3rd was signing your vehicle over to the government for them to auction.

That is a completely different thing than what was being discussed.
