Quite a while ago there was a thread on some people getting custom dash inserts made in bulk. Everyone who was intereted chimed in, and they even talked of calibrating them for inaccurate speedos.
Anyway dont know what happened, probably best to search untill you find it, then maybe contact the relevant parties, see what happened?
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
J-Top, I bought 5 Liquid filled Autometer guages a few years ago and have thrown them all away because they stopped working or the numbers peeled of the face. IMHO Autobeater sux. If you want good guages buy Pricol. http://www.redlineauto.com.au/pricol_gauges.htm
Yeah we had alot of people interested in them, im happy to go ahead with it again, I suppose i got a lil distracted on other things for the sierra and i ended up getting a coily...aka white guages already. I have a laser cutter, just need to find if he will do screen printing.
Sorry guys Forgot all about it, ill call up next week and find it for you...have some vectors somewhere, but people with the right car for the job will need to test them first before i go cut them...anyone?
Otherwise speedo corrections are always handy. I had vectors somewhere, and was going to print onto thin perspex laser cut. Just need someone to measure theres, PM me if this is possible.
- Exciting stock 96 Coily Sierra...
- Custom Roll Bar
- Diff breathers
30/31's to come...
Thats a pretty good price and deal. I remember getting a few quotes and it was going to come in about $75 inc postage. Screen printed on perspex. Smiley, how did you print them?

i am printing them on semi gloss photo paper and laminating them with UV resistant laminate. taking them to the printers to print and then cutting out. i figure if they do bleach in the sun its cheap enough to replace.
after having them in for a few months they have held up fine so ..
25 bucks you cant go wrong. plus i am going to make mine match my paint like the newer cars coming out nowadays (Xr8s etc)
boner59 wrote:let me know how you go i can get them from the uk but they cost about $30 and i rather buy them localey for that price
Where in the UK sells them ? Could be good for ideas
I was also thinking about this the other night. Rather than have bucketloads of different templates for each different yre/gear ration, what about doing standard calibration, standard+5%, standard+10% and standard+15% or something like that ?
Wont obviously be an exact match for each persons individual car but would give a reasonable range of options easily.
Remember the old dual-range speedo's that had markings for KPH as well as MPH? We could do something like that as well for people who have work and weekend tyres. IE daily tyres would be the main guage set for standard tyres, but it could then have smaller numbers in red for 5% or 10% etc so when you put your weekend 33' tyres on you can still get a good idea of your actual speed.

thoughts?

Thats a good idea Kyle, its possible. the first set i made literally took me all weekend.. close on 19hrs of drawing
now that i have a base its not as time consuming. so just a matter of getting the differences setup.. maybe even have a paper copy of the tacho that you can mark say when your doing 60 with your road tyres then again with weekend tyres.. or something like that.
the ones i made currently are for NT with tacho and are suited perfectly to 235s.
