Timing Problem

Post by cathgart »

I replaced the timing chain on my 95 NJ Paj 4M40 yesterday. The problem I have is I thought i had it on TDC before removing chain but the Harmonic balancer had spun and is stuffed, therefore it wasn't on TDC. I didn't realise until I had the chain off. Then to add to my dilema the book says there is 1 bright link and another 2 bright links on the timing chain. The new chain I got only has 1 bright link on it. My question is then, on the cam sproket there is 2 marks, where have they got to be when the engine is on TDC?
Cheers,
Matt
