The AZTEC is still complete we have replaced all the bits that we have sold thanks to SEAN.My apprentice was building a buggy but was no where finished so we put all his bits onto the chassis so the buggy will still be able to compete.Diffs havn't been swapped yet.

im not realy qualified to comment as ive only seen vids on all but 1 of the mentioned rigs
but IMO id go with the mog rover
with sam's engineering skills and experience i think it would win hands down
it'll be very interesting to see how BJ's new rig will fare against the rest

BJs rig will be interesting. It isnt necessarily ultimately capable (hasnt got massive flex or ground clearance or fancy hydraulics) but it is very light, has lots of horsepower, has really good gearing and a rear suspension that can handle a lot of wheelspin without getting up set. This all points to a rig that really likes the throttle - its an absolute blast to drive.
If I had to pick between my mogrover and BJs new rig as something that I would want to drive then ATM I would probably pick BJs new rig. Ultimately may not be as capable as my rig in a lot of our terrain but definately more fun and more capable in the sort of terrain that I want to see this sport moving towards. In the next 12 months there is going to more rigs like BJ's new rig - Im going to make sure of it.
BJs rig may just have a few strength issues but time will tell.
Speaking of strength does anybody have any idea how strong Dobbins cruza is. Ive only seen him crawl slowly around things - has anybody seen him really get into it with the throttle?? Just wondering because I never have (but I have only seen it a tuff truck in person and in a couple of vids).

i have also noticed Dobbins slow driving technique. This is in contrast to some of the driving techniques from other cars i have seen on videos of competitions. I think it shows finese. It also shows the capabilities of the vehicle. Meaning he can drive very slowly and has no need for excess speed or momentum.
I was allways taught that in 4wding the object was to drive as slow and smooth as possible with the minimal amount of wheelspin. I guess it is just a different philosophy. Mind you, the cars that charge obstacles and spin and bounce do look spectacular. Generally speaking the slower and smoother you are the less chance of breaking things.
It sure would be good to see all the cars mentioned head to head in a few different competitions with a variety of terrain.

If you work on the theory that something is only as strong as its weakest part, and add the maths of everything before the portals having its working load reduced by 2.xx or whatever he runs, it would have to be bloody strong. The weakest part could maybe either be the portal's stub shafts or gearsets or maybe some component of the 9"centre/axles?? The blokes fabrication is nothing short of top notch, so I can't imagine anything in the chassis/suspension being less than suitable for major misuse...

Yes we were all taught that 4WDing slow is the best way!!!!
But you need to adapt to the terrain!
Have a look at the american rock crawling comps and then tell me how slow and steady works!
I am yet to see someone CRAWL a near Vertical wall
Also at XRCC round 2 i don't think the Mogrover got above 1500rpm
Yes its one thing to CRAWL but what happens when the have to GET IT!!!!
i voted 4 the mog rover coz i have seen all these rigs in a variety of terrains and the rover can crawl stuff wen it needs 2 but wen it approches a vertical ledge that cant b crawled slowly, the mog gets a bootful of loud pedal and gets it really well..
in my eyes i believe that it is the most capable ATM......

I voted for the SK.s Aztek , As long as he keeps the zook bonnet
How could i not he.s a Local !
Just as a matter of interest
I seen pics of glens toy in a woodpecker , What sort of record have these blokes got ,
Glen D , 1 TTC
PETE A , I've seen him win quiet a few , allterians ect, I would say this one is the most consistent over the years, Maybe not for the fact of winning events but for competing in heaps winning and placing in a lot.
Cristie bros , I think maybe the siemens bros have done better then them.
sams mog Is winning the xrcc's and whooping some butt ,
I Hope The entrant list for the pecker comes good' Cause I can't wait.
Be good to have a little look around for all the results for a year and see who got the best placings , Be interesting in the least
