Vitara - falling idle - when the engine is hot

Post by yossivarman »

I have 94 Vitara g16b
The problem is that:
After driving for a half an hour - the engine is hot.
I switch off the engine - for a while - like ten minutes(went to buy some groceries)

When I try to switch on - the Idle is falling - I have to use the gas pedal

My assumption : ISC or IAC - Idle speed control
This engine doesn't have a map sensor
according to the last check - Check engine flashes - Every thing is OK
I saw that - the list of problem (code number) does not contain this component.
I've also check with ohm-meter - it shows 14 onms - good value - according to the Haynes

My next step is to clean it with carb spray -
What is the catalogic number of this component?

Are you familiar with that problem??
thanks in advance

There is an air flow sensor just in front of the air filter in the EFI model. If there is an air leak in the inlet, it won't run/idle very well. Check the corrugated rubber hose that joins the aluminum pipe to the air filter for cracks. Not sure if that helps you.
