MQ LSD

Post by macca81 »

so iv searched, but the only topic i could find that relates to this was abit messed up and i couldnt follow the gist of it.

what i wanna know, is if the LSD from the rear diff of a 81 MQ, can go into the front diff of the same vehicle?

someone told me that they are interchangable, and that it is the only patrol that can do so. someone else told me that the diff centers in front and rear are different and that you cant get LSDs for the front end. who should i be believing?

no no no no they r not interchangable. you can get an a rear lsd from a navara c200 diff and put it in the front of you patrol as they have a c200 or so thats what the research tells me the diff can come from a few different nissan not just the navara thats the first one that cam to my head. hope this helps

mq/mk patrol c 200 front and rear is c200, H233B, and H260 very rarre if the rear has c200.

There was a thread a little while ago with a heap of info on nissan diffs, different ratios splines and what diff came out in what. Would be worth searching for it.

C200 has a removable coverplate on the back of the diff centre, whereas the H233 has a completely removable diff centre. You will most likely have a H233, I don't think we saw the C200 rear diff in Oz.

What about the r200 diffs from the rear of the 300zx, that is the independant suspention vershion of the c200 dose anyone know wether the centers are interchangable as loads of 300zx being broke near me in uk and they all have lsd. I know i will have to be carfull on year as crown wheel retaining bolts went from 10mm to 12mm in 1989 but if year ok for diff will centre swop? :?
If it's not broken fix it till it is
