Landcruiser DP chip

hey guys im after a DP chip for a 2006 100 series 4.2 turbo diesel and want to know which one is the right one for the 100 series, is it the dp34???

or is there anyother brand chips out there also??

alos some comments form ppl that have these chip would be good, and does it void warenty or do you just unplug befroe services and stuff??

We fit alot of these, yes it is a DP34, its not a 5min job to fit it up, but once the loom is wired in the unit unplugs very quickly, depending on how easy it is to get to. Weget very close to the advertised increase when dynoed and measure before and after figures.

DP Chip have informed us that they now have a driveline warranty ontop of the 5yr unit warranty.

There is also Steinbauer, D tronic, and a few more cheaper less tested products around.

I run the Safari D'tronic on my 2005 TD100 which I fitted myself in about half an hour. It has improved performance dramatically at the bottom end of the rev band. I'm currently using a 4WD shop for a service but removed it in 10 min for the last dealer service while out and about.

Sorry to hijack.

Am looking at a DP chip myself. Can/do you custom adjust the settings on these with a laptop to suit each individual engine + mods?

If you want real power, go for the Safari "high output" system. I got a 50% increase atw on an '06TD auto, and can break traction on both front tyres off the mark in the dry, and all four in the wet. Works out at about 187kW & 585Nm.

Dak Dak yes it can be done, but most vehicles dont require that extreme a setting.

I should add, the D-Tronic is far superior to the DP chip, as it is engine specific, not a generic "one size fits all" like the DP is.

The Dp chip isn't gerneric they program each chip to each car
Well worth doing & I'vehad no complaints with any I've sold

Hey tapage , I dont know what kilowats are to hp but i got a 79 series factory turbo ute (not intercooled) with a 3in exaust and a rapid chip wich we played with on the dyno and managed 180 rwhp with 265 75s and with the chip off it was only 121rwhp so yea dont know ( you can turn it on and off on the dash) Not huge figures but its a nice little gain.......

Dude .. in my books it's a huge upgrade in performance .. I hope I can run some day 180 rwhp !

Nope, you can take it off a Navara and put it on a 100 series with no changes - ask them.

Nope, you can take it off a Navara and put it on a 100 series with no changes - ask them.
In the case of a Navara and 100 series you can because they both use the DP34 module. However the DP34 modules do have the ability to be custom set with a laptop.

I ant no dyno expert but if u use a lower gear on the dyno does'nt it show different figures?

I think the point MUD000 was trying to make was unlike other cheaper modules that simply plug in and only increase fuel volume by a set amount across the entire engine map, with the DP one you can custom program the module's settings with a laptop (both fuel volume and fuel timing) across the entire engine map to suit each particular engine and it's mods if you want to.

Yep, it will show different results, but for comparison, all runs were done in the same gear.
Dak Dak, can you qualify that you can adjust timing with the DP chip ? D-Tronic chips are adjustable as well, as with most, you just need the software. That article also talks about signal input, and I'm yet to be told how the DP chip changes the timing by picking up a single wire that goes to the injector pump, and also reads other inputs such as engine temp. to make adjustments if need be. It just keeps intercepting and adding a value to the signal.
