Glow Plugs

Post by Leighroy1984 »

Hey all.
Have just put another 2L 2.4D in the old girl and i have to replace the glow plugs. When i brought the new motor I was given a set of Glow Plugs with it, now the problem is I have no idea at all when it comes to Glow Plugs. The set I was given are longer than the ones that are in it, will the longer ones suit?

What I`d suggest is go to your local repco or Diesel joint, take in the part numbers on both sets of glow plugs and ask which ones are to suit your motor

which part is longer?

the part after the thread and seat, ie, the part that goes down into the head

or the part that is outside the head

I replaced my factory oem glowplugs with some bosch ones and they were about 1cm shorter, but the part that goes down into the head was exactly the same.

Dont guess, get the correct ones. You will need both model and build date to determine this.
