MQ Front diff leaking oil past seals into axle housing

Post by David_S »

If anyone else has this problem which is not fixed by replacing the seals it might be caused by grooving of the axle under the seal. Chicago Rawhide (owned by SKF) now make a "Speedi Sleeve" which fits the axle under the seal. The part number is 99121. I have just fitted one to my axle (a pretty simple job) but can't yet report whether it has fixed the problem. They are not cheap though - about $NZ50 each.

If you are doing this repair it would pay to replace the drive shaft needle bearing in the stub axle housing at the same time.
