HILUX 2.8D loseing oil..??

Hey guys i have a 96 ln106 hilux diesil and it seems to be looseing oil but it has no leeks and now ive got a ticking noise comeing from the motor and its blowing a lot of smoke. any ideas on what this could be and what it would cost to be fixed cheers daniel.

How many kays has it done,it might well be time for a rebuild,and this is very expensive. :cry:

its done about 240.000 thou but when i brought it i was told its was rebulit at about 210.000kms thou so maybe that bloke was bullshiting me.. its still running good thoe just smokey and loseing oil..

was told by a tafe teacher once that i think 500ml of hydrulic oil is 110% better than that stop smoke stuff but don't hold me to what oil he said
Has it been hot maybe rings stuck to pistons (Usealy from being hot) alowing to much oil to bypass the oilring or valve stem seals thats the main ones i can think off
plenty of parts on the bench
