repacking leafs

Post by known 2 »

hey. i have some old 2i lifted leafs of my 75 i'm giving to my mate who has a bj70. problem is the rear pack is 12 thick and the front is 9 thick. so we gunna pull them apart and remove someleavs probly down to about 4 ay the front and 4 at the rear. wan't to know wich ones to remove and put back in?

while there apart was thinking about cleening them up with a wire brush and giving them a coat of paint. also i hear that u can put teflon pads in between the springs. were would i get these from and were abouts do they go?

cheers.

If your intent is too make the pack less stiff, then start with the bottom ones.

so remove all but the 4 longest ones?
do i have to put the short one on the bottom back on?

the intent is to make them as soft as posible so they flex well.

Start at bottom say drop 2 at a time till it's soft/flexy enough may need to buy shorter centre pins or run a die down the ones in it as all the ones i've seen are only threaded about 20-30mm
plenty of parts on the bench

the teflon only stops them from squeaking and removes a lil friction.
if your realy worried about it use some silicon spray every now n then
friction adds dampening tho:P
