80 series rear bar/tire swing build up

hey all well while we wait for my uncle to turn up to paint my cruiser we thought it would be a good time to build a rear bar/rear tire carrier anyways hope ya like this is what we have done in 3 days oh btw we have built 2 in 3 days ill put more up tomorrow

looks sweet dude. ur getting good at welding..
funny how it has a strange resemblance to my rear bar same with ur sliders. maybe i should charge royalties.
gunna put tail lights in it and some pollished alloy on top. Gotta have some bling.

all ya gotta do is put a 50 point exo roll cage on it in case you get "cough" directionally disoriented "cough" again. :D :D :lol: :lol:

Nah just jokes. is that body been done in primer or is that the original colour again?

with those side bits on the rear bar make sure you tie them back to the chassis. I used to have a rear bar with side bars and if you leaned the side against a tree it would push into the panelwork and dint it.

yea sean im following ur style im putting pollished alloy on the top for ya and some LED's i just gotta find the ones we have mad brackets that go bac to the chassie just didnt put the pics up ill put some up today i want my cruiser has the base coat on it still got the ture colour to go yet then can start putting it back to gether

You have done a good job it looks really good and has given me a few ideas. my wife is shaking her head already :)

Also what thickness is that made out of as I am thinking of making a rear bar with carrier and not sure what to use.

hey the rear bar is made out of 3mm wall thickness but we have braced it a fair bit

Update time for the rear bars. Scottie is busy on the car. Waiting for lights so we know what size to cut the recess. Johns is on his car and got a workout on the weekend at LCMP. Backed into a tree and did not move it, did not mark the bar either. Not completly finished either. More updates soon.

Trade secret. Na very easy actually. Support from the side back onto the front towbar bolt.

There is a pic of the side support on this page. I bolts onto the front bolt on the towbar bracket..
