Gigantor wrote::P Thats the thing, your there to have fun and we all know the risk involved. I was only talking to Chris Chapmen at Track 2 about roll cages etc. I think I must of jinx myself.
The body of the truck is totalled, Jamie Way kindly got my engine going again.....BIG THANKS and the rest of the chassis and running gear is sweat. I'll sit on it for a month than get back into it, way up my options and prices for turrets/complete bodies etc.
I was more angry not getting the chance to crack day2 as I would have open the suspension up and let the old girl really spread her legs for the crowd.  Next Time!!!!!

The wombat holes on the open/outlaw side were very big but they were driveable if you picked your line correctly, I provide this by driving them and only getting about 4 inches of air under the passengers side tyre when coming out of the second hole. My brother has the pic of my rig in that spot so when he sends it to me I`ll post it up. Shorely somebody seen my drive though them and can also comment at how easy my lux did it.

I have to agree that the mud is just crap even though I scored 98, DAZ`s 40 also overheated on the way home but once we stopped at a servo and hosed out the radiator it was fine.

Snowys roll was the funniest one I have seen, he broke a CV first then gased it then flew out of the hole as he was going over and landed on the flat out of the hole on his side. Some of the spectators must of been sooooooooo close to getting hit

flex had nothing to do with driving the second hole, it was more than a wheelbase long even for 80's and GU's which means if you drive IN the hole you eventually have both right hand wheels in the hole at the same time. it's too long to carry momentum across to let a wheel 'float' like you can do in some holes where you are outflexed.

I'm not saying that particular hole had no place in the course, it just belonged closer to the big points end of the course instead of right at the start.

Guts I didn't see your drive, did you skirt the second hole like john john/madcow/ljbeepbeep, or drive *in* the hole?

cheers

that 40 with the billion shocks clearly demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of suspension geometry and dynamics.

now who's got the results???

Is that 'Bogger' thing new? I don't remember seeing it before. How well does the suspension work? Who drives it?

Is there a website showing the differences between the classes in the Nissan Trials? If not, can someone briefly fill us in?

That Bogger is new, he had only finished it on the Tuesday before the trials. You could still smell the paint.
The Nissan Trials was where he was 'trialling' his new creation and he was in our group. He didn't go that good on the first day and broke something so didn't compete on the 2nd day.

I was under the understanding that the trials had rules concerning engineers certificates , some of the competators got hassled in near stock things ,nearly turned away for just having tires slightly out of the flare, and you look at some of the things that got in ,geez you reckon multi shocks lights on the back are 600mm apart ? I want there engineer!!

What happened to Pete Antunac? I read on this forum that he was going to be running the new claws, but apparently he didn't even make an appearance.
Anyone have any more pics? Great to see a few new rigs getting around - any pics of the new rigs?
