vitara engine codes

Post by mrmagoo »

Ok Ok i checked the bible and did a search but wanted more.
got a spluttering issue with my 94 injected vitara.
only when im light on the accellerator or stopping it will try to stall or splutter like its missing.
its had a full service with all filters changed but now its coming up with
ERROR CODE 53.
what does ECM SPEC in the code list mean?
How can i fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Code 53 (5 flashes, pause, 3 flahes)
Ground Circuit
Poor ground connection at the ECM or engine block Also, possibly a faulty ECM.

That is straight out of the manual I have here.
