Globes in 80 behind sub fuel gauge

Globes in 80 behind sub fuel gauge
I've got an 80 and the sub fuel gauge in the roof is not illuminated. As its the first I've owned, I just assumed its not possible to run out of fuel in the dark, so I let it be. Sadly, I've come to realize that its indeed possible and I need know when that going to happen...
So where can I get some more of those tiny tiny globes? Are they the same behind the dash? Or in the window winder panel? Anyone know if you can get different colours or anything?
And secondly, I've gotten some these LED rocker switches that Jaycar and Supacheeap are selling , but need to know if I can dull the LED's just a touch as they are bloody bright and I'm mounting them on a roof console. Can I put a little resistor in line or something?? (please respond in laymans terms...)
Cheers,

Tiny tiny globes: NFI. You could start by taking one to Autobarn/Super Cheap and see what they say.
LED rocker switches: Yes, a resistor in line should dull the light pretty simply - unless they're a multi-voltage thing, which may complicate matters a little. I've never seen one of these switches, so I can't help any more.
Good luck,
Scott

The little globes look like an LED with the legs wounds around a circular disc with a phillips head hole in it and a screw thread. The legs kinda just stick around the perimeter of the disc and contact the terminals in the appropiatly shaped hole.
The switches are from Jaycar and are part code SK0955 if you want some snazzy switches. I think they look quite good.

you can get the globes from supercheap/autobarn/repco. they are white only but you can buy silicone sleeves in various colours to change them, the lamp will pull out of the plastic housing. i used green/blue sleeves on my o/h console so it is not super bright but i can still read the instruments.ash_on_mtb wrote:The little globes look like an LED with the legs wounds around a circular disc with a phillips head hole in it and a screw thread.
