Roof Racks

Post by Wilko76 »

Hey All

Missus is going to let me spend MY tax cheque on a roof rack for the GU. I have checked out both ARB and TJM roof racks and gaged on the price a bit. $1200. !!
Searched on Ebay and found a couple of second handies that i am watching.
also after flicking through a few 4wd mags i have also noticed a few other manufacturers make a similar style to both TJM and ARB but significantly less.
My question. Are the ARB/TJM racks worth the money? Does any one have another brand, such as a ECB etc, and are happy with qual and strength. A 4x4 company was advertising racks, similar to ARB style, for 699.
Thanks for your help.

I have looked at the cheap ones off e-bay as a mate bought one.

Personally I would spend the money the money of ARB or TJM as they are made alot better. I had to redo all the welds and then repaint it.

That said if you can find a good one of e-bay go for it but if you cant weld then it may get expensive.

If you are in sydney let me know as I will be making one shortly for a mate and could knock up another if need be.

Cheers nick

In Brissie mate, thanks for the offer though.

Yhat is my worry also, ie quality of the product. I have seen a lot of tried and priven ARB/TJM racks come through heaps of 4x4 abuse. i am not sure if i can say the same for the cheapie ones.
